Malaysian Gold: A Sizzling Turmeric & Garlic Squid Stir-Fry (Sotong Goreng Kunyit)

Details
A golden, garlicky stir-fry that comes together in minutes.
Ingredients
Instructions
Marinate the Squid
In a bowl, toss the squid rings with the turmeric powder and salt until evenly coated. Set aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
Sauté the Aromatics
Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Stir-fry for a minute or two until fragrant and the onion starts to soften.
Cook the Vegetables
Add the julienned carrots and sliced green beans to the wok. Continue to stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but still have a crunch.
Sizzle the Squid
Add the marinated squid and sliced chilies to the wok. Turn the heat up to high and stir-fry quickly for 2-4 minutes, or just until the squid is opaque and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as it will become tough.
Finishing Touches
If using, add the tomato wedges and give it one final toss. Remove from the heat immediately.
Serve
Serve hot with a plate of steamed white rice for a complete and satisfying meal.
