Fiery Garlic-Kissed Edamame: A Japanese Izakaya Favorite

Details
Garlic, butter, and a hint of spice transform simple edamame into an irresistible Japanese snack!
Ingredients
Instructions
Cook the Edamame
Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the frozen edamame pods and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Drain well and set aside.
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet or wok, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30-60 seconds, or until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
Combine and Season
Add the cooked edamame to the skillet. Toss well to coat the pods in the garlic butter. Pour in the soy sauce and continue to toss for another minute, ensuring all the edamame is well coated and heated through. Taste and add an optional pinch of sea salt if desired.
Serve
Transfer the garlic edamame to a serving bowl and serve immediately. Encourage guests to squeeze the edamame out of the pods and enjoy!
