Our 7 Favourite Garlic Shop Products, Ranked

Some of these we eat straight from the jar, others have genuinely changed how we use garlic

A little garlic story to get you in the mood.

Some of these we eat straight from the jar. Some we cook with every week without thinking. A couple have genuinely changed how we use garlic.

This is just the honest list of items we keep reordering for ourselves, in the order we'd recommend them. If you're new to Garlic Shop, start here. If you've been with us a while, there might be one or two you've been sleeping on.

1. Fresh Garlic Purée

It’s always great getting the flavour of real garlic without the faff of peeling, chopping, and ending up with fingers that smell for three days. This solves that completely. It's fresh, pungent, and ready to go straight into whatever you're cooking.

No board, no knife, no drama. Stir it into a pasta sauce, rub it under chicken skin before roasting, blend it into a dressing.

It works because it genuinely tastes like garlic rather than the sad, sharp paste you get from a supermarket tube. This is the workhorse of the range, and once it's in your fridge it'll earn its place every single week.

2. Canadian Honey Garlic Sauce

Sweet, sticky, and genuinely addictive. This is the sauce that tends to convert people who reckon they're not really garlic people.

The honey brings warmth and body, the garlic cuts through with real savouriness, and somehow the result is greater than the sum of its parts. It works as a glaze, a dipping sauce, a stir-fry base, or brushed over wings ten minutes before they come out of the oven.

But the real reason it earns this spot is versatility. You don't need to think about it. Just keep a bottle within arm's reach of the hob and you'll find a use for it three times a week without trying.

3. Sweet Pickled Garlic

This one surprises people. The expectation is sharp and vinegary, but the reality is mellow, crunchy, and lightly sweet. Garlic cloves transformed into something you'd genuinely snack on straight from the jar.

They're brilliant scattered over a sharing board, sliced into a grain salad, or laid across bruschetta. But honestly? The best thing about them is just putting the jar on the table and watching someone try one for the first time.

The look of confusion followed by immediately reaching back in for another is a reliable five seconds of joy. These are the ones guests always ask about.

4. Chilli & Garlic Rub

Made in small batches in Wales, this rub does something unusual: it's warming without being aggressive. The chilli heat builds gently, letting the garlic come forward first, which makes it far more useful day-to-day than something that just blows your head off.

Rub it over lamb shoulder before a long, slow roast. Dust it over cauliflower. Mix it into yoghurt for a quick marinade or use it anywhere you'd normally reach for paprika and wonder if there's a more interesting option.

If you're someone who cooks regularly but feels like your spice shelf has gone a bit stale, this is a good place to start shaking things up.

5. Black Garlic Cloves

Black garlic is what happens when regular garlic is slowly fermented over weeks at low heat. The sharpness disappears entirely. What's left is something sweet and deeply complex, with a soft, chewy texture and a flavour that's been compared to tamarind, aged balsamic, and dark chocolate. Sometimes all at once.

You can eat them straight from the jar. You can mash them into butter and let it melt over a steak, or fold them into a risotto in the final few minutes and watch the whole dish quietly deepen.

The reason people come back for these isn't novelty. It's that once you've cooked with them, you start noticing their absence. They add something that's genuinely hard to replicate.

6. Black Garlic Paste

Same fermented black garlic, different format. Where the cloves are for texture and presence, the paste is for those moments when you want black garlic to disappear into a dish and make everything better without announcing itself.

Swirl it into a cream sauce, whisk it into a vinaigrette, or blend it with softened butter and chill it into a log to slice over steaks.

The flavour it adds is rich, rounded, and deeply umami in a way that's hard to place but completely unmistakable. People will ask what's in it and not be able to put their finger on it. Quietly brilliant.

7. Garlic Butter Seasoning

A blend of dried garlic, herbs, and buttery savoury notes that manages to taste properly comforting without any actual butter in sight.

Shake it over roasted new potatoes, stir it through pasta with olive oil and Parmesan, toss it with vegetables before they go into the air fryer, or dust it over bread dough before it goes in the oven.

The reason this one deserves a spot on the list is simple: comfort. Not the kind you have to think about or plan for. Just the kind that turns a fairly average Tuesday dinner into something you'd actually look forward to eating. It's a subtle addition to a range full of more dramatic flavours, but it tends to run out faster than people expect.

Bonus: The Garlic Shop Mug and T-Shirt

Not a condiment. Not something you'll cook with. But if you've read this far through a ranked list of garlic products, you might also be the kind of person who wants to wear that fact on your chest, or start the day with your coffee in a jar-shaped mug with garlic on it.

We respect that completely. Both make genuinely good gifts for the garlic obsessive in your life, or, let's be honest, for yourself.
