Preheat your oven to 190°C (170°C fan).
In a large, ovenproof dish, toss the sliced onions and garlic with the olive oil, marjoram, a pinch of salt, and a generous amount of black pepper. Spread them evenly across the bottom.
Arrange the white sausages on top of the onion and garlic mixture in a single layer.
Pour the beer into the dish around the sausages.
Bake for 40-50 minutes, turning the sausages halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through, and the onions are soft and caramelised. Serve hot with the onions and pan juices.
